New 50,000 Square Foot House
So I have seen some large houses down here in the Austin real estate market. But this by far tops any house I have seen. In the picture we are seeing only the upper level of the house a mere 17,000 square feet. What is hiding is the basement complex, which is 33,500 square feet. This brings the house in at 50,900 square feet. What do you do with 50,900 square feet? Apparently there is a 103 seat movie theater. A game room coming in at 4900 square feet. There is also a music annex. I don't even know what that is. It's larger than Bill Gates' house near Seattle. And almost as big as the White House which is around 55,000 square feet.
So is this the largest house in the US? Apparently not. There are a handful of houses over 50,000 square feet including Donald Trump's 80,000 square foot house in Florida.
I just searched through the Austin MLS. The largest home currently for sale is 16173. The largest home ever in the MLS was 17460.

wow.... my house is only 6,000 sq ft. lol! i feel poor now! but, in the place i live, im rich, in indiana, (where i used to live0 im middle class. lol.
